Kimble Hall Aftercare Apartments

Kimble Hall Aftercare (Level I) are individual sober living apartments that are for men who graduate from Phase I and want to continue their sobriety journey in a less restrictive but still structured environment. The 10pm curfew is lifted so men can work second shift jobs, attend night school, and have more contact with spouses, parents and children. Men are still monitored closely and are subject to random drug screening and are expected to remain active in 12 step recovery. They are welcome but not required to share evening meals at the main house on Virginia Street and perform chores to keep the property neat and clean. They are expected to be good neighbors and are held to high standards by the House Manager and Executive Director. Average length of stay is 6 to 12 months before graduation or moving on to our Long-Term apartments. We are remodeling several rooms in this house and expect total occupancy to be up to ten men.

Dickinson Place Long Term Apartments

Dickinson Place (Level I) is a totally remodeled Apartment complex with extremely nice, well appointed furnished apartments that can be leased for up to 2 years by members in our program. Men are expected to maintain sobriety, stay active in 12 step AA/NA recovery, and continue to be good neighbors in the community. It is our most relaxed Phase; counseling is no longer required, and they have full kitchens to prepare meals and welcome the occasional overnight guest. The rent factor is 40 to 50% less than what a comparable apartment would rent for plus KVFH covers all utility costs and provides washers and dryers. We found there was a need for this type of housing to give men a "Soft Launch" back into society. They continue to work on education, pay off fines, save money for family and the future when they go out completely on their own softening the sometimes-harsh reality of life. Many of our apartment residents have graduated from college and received extremely well-paying jobs and have purchased homes and new cars. 80% of the men that take advantage of all 3 phases at KVFH enjoy long term uninterrupted sobriety (5 Years) so long as they stay active in Recovery.
